GKS BUTTERFLY

GKS BUTTERFLY

Category: Permedica Orthopedics

INTENDED PURPOSE:

GKS BUTTERFLY is a tri-compartimental gliding knee prosthesis stabilized on all planes to be used in Total Knee Replacement surgeries. Use of the device is indicated in cases of revision due to failure of previous arthroplasties, correction of severe axial deviation in varus/valgus and/or severe joint instability. Fixation of the device onto the bone is achieved by means of bone cement; this can be total (using cemented intramedullary stems) as well as partial (using press-fit stems) whenever intramedullary cement filling is not desired.

STERILIZATION:

Method: Ethylene Oxyde (EtO) or irradiation (Beta/Gamma rays - minimum dose 25 kGy) or Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VH2O2).

Validity: 5 years (Beta sterilized products)- 10 years (EtO/Gamma/VH2O2 sterilized products).

Semi-constrained Rotating Hinge Prosthesis

Anatomic Femoro-Tibial component in CrCo alloy, also with BIOLOY® ultrahard antiallergic coating. The rotating hinge constrains the stability on all planes allowing flexion-extension movement. The degree of rotation improves as the degree of flexion increases; rotation is not allowed with the leg fully extended.

In the ANTI-LUXATION model the Femoral bush is locked onto the Tibia by the Tibial Insert, thus avoiding the components luxation after reduction of the joint .

Modular intramedullary stems for cemented or cementless anchoring, available in different lengths and diameters, with double locking system (screw and conical connection).

UHMWPE distal centralizers for perfect centering of the stem into the dyaphisis thus ensuring even distribution of the acrylic cement around the stem.

Total and partial augments, in different thicknesses, to be screwed to the inferior face of the tibial component.

Replaceable Polyethylene components can be easily exchanged in case of revision.
