Kone Femoral Stem

Kone Femoral Stem

Category: Permedica Orthopedics

INTENDED PURPOSE:

The KONE stem is intended for use in Total or partial Hip Replacement procedures, combined with a femoral ball head (or a bi-articular head) and an acetabular cup.

MATERIALS:

KONE Press-Fit: Titanium Aluminium Niobium alloy (Ti6Al7Nb) ISO5832/11
KONE PLUS: PM734 higly nitrogenized Stainless Steel forged alloy ISO5832/9

STERILIZATION:

Method: Irradiation (Beta or Gamma rays - nominal dose 25 kGy) or vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VH2O2).
            Validity: 5 years (Beta) - 10 years (Gamma-VH2O2).

KONE Press-Fit

KONE is a multifunctional and alternative system that satisfies all needs and is indicated as a response to all
arthroprosthesic pathologies. Although could be utilized even in femurs with normal morphologies, it is mostly indicated for dysplasies, osteotomy outcomes and fracture outcomes.

Longitudinal ribs

The stem’s longitudinal ribs are designed to slightly penetrate into the cortical bone, conferring a high grade of rotational stability.

Circular cross-section

The circular section allows free adjustment of the

anteversion angle. This characteristic makes the KONE

stem suitable for patients with bone deformations, in

which forced rotation of the stem could cause dangerous

stress concentration at the bone interface.

Longitudinal grooves

The stem’s longitudinal ribs are designed to confer to the stem a high degree of rotational stability avoiding excessive stress transmission to the bone cement mantle.

Centralizers

Proximal and distal UHMWPE centralizers allows the

correct centering of the stem within the medullary canal,

guaranteeing an even mantle of bone cement around the

implant.
